The OAR HOME Foundation provides financial resources to create, expand and encourage home ownership opportunities for Oregonians at or below local median income. OAR HOME promotes awareness of affordable housing issues by educating Oregonians and their representatives about the barriers to home ownership and the resources needed to increase housing affordability.
Here’s Your Chance to Help…
You know them. They play a vital role in your life every day. From teaching our children, to caring for the sick and elderly, these people are dedicated to the betterment of our community, people who help with our everyday lives.
Despite their best efforts, far too many members of today’s workforce simply can’t afford the American Dream. As the local real estate market has seen incredible growth in the past several years, the price of the average home has grown beyond the means of many Oregon residents.
Service workers, single parents, countless other professionals and working families face a seemingly impossible challenge in their dreams of home ownership. But Oregon’s real estate community is determined to make these dreams a reality through our most ambitious endeavor yet – the Oregon Association of REALTORS® HOME Foundation (OAR HOME).
Your contribution to OAR HOME will help provide much needed funds to organizations dedicated to the development, maintenance, or repair of affordable housing. It will help educate consumers and real estate professionals and provide the tools they need to make homeownership more attainable. It will address both immediate and long-term needs through strong public/private partnerships. And most importantly, it will give more Oregonians the opportunity to make a lasting investment in local communities.
Contributions to OAR HOME are used as follows:
- 70% of all contributions are returned to local communities in the form of grants to partnering organizations;
- 20% of all contributions are placed in a State Fund to use for housing-related emergencies; and
- No more than 10% of all contributions can be used for administrative and research expenses.
We believe that we can make a difference and help solve the affordable housing crisis, but we can’t do it alone.
We encourage you to join in our efforts by contributing to the OAR HOME Foundation in any of the following convenient ways:
- Send a one-time tax deductible contribution to build our fund.
- Commit to donating a smaller amount following each closed sale.
- Make an annual pledge of your continued support.
- Establish an interest-bearing escrow account with automatic contributions from deposited earnest money.
