Did you Know?

In 2007, Oregon REALTORS® established the right for property owners to have their homes remodeled before sale, updated the escrow form to ensure that real estate licensees get paid at closing, and defeated real estate transfer taxes, limits on the mortgage interest deduction, and a new tax on real estate agents.
For every PAC dollar contributed, 30% goes to RPAC (national), 35% to ORPAC (state) and 35% to your local PAC.

The Oregon Association of REALTORS® is dedicated to creating and maintaining a healthy business environment for REALTORS® and ensuring that the American dream of homeownership remains accessible to Oregonians.  OAR utilizes several different programs to advocate effectively for these goals.

The Oregon Association of REALTORS® Public Policy Department advocates before the Oregon Legislature and state regulatory agencies to help pass laws and regulations that achieve its goals of a healthy business environment and accessible homeownership.  The Public Policy Department also works to defeat legislation with the potential to harm the real estate industry or that increases the cost of housing.

The Oregon REALTOR® Political Action Committee (ORPAC) provides Oregon REALTORS® the opportunity to support pro-REALTOR® political candidates at all levels of government. In cooperation with the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and local REALTOR® political action committees, ORPAC supports candidates of all political parties who share REALTOR® goals of homeownership, free enterprise and protection of private property rights.

The Oregon Association of REALTORS® Issues Mobilization Fund provides funding to help educate members and the general public on issues impacting the real estate profession and private property rights.  The fund can be used to pay for local or state issue campaigns.

It’s true there is strength in numbers. Consequently, it is vital that our Association has a strong network of grassroots advocates ready to act in a short period of time. To create a local pulse, and build momentum on policy issues that are at the crux of our values, we need you! Our political advocacy programs are designed to engage your help to promote REALTOR® public policy goals.
